Leupold's good for sure and I've had good luck with Vortex too, their warranty's unbeatable and the glass is getting really good for the price pointWell, howdy there! For me, a top-tier Leupold made a world of difference. That crisp glass and killer light transmission is a game changer for those long-range shots. You just can't beat it.
I just stepped up to top tier Leupold optics on one of my hunting rifles and 2 of my competition rifles. For me, a top-tier Leupold made a world of difference.
Good point, I’m leaning mid-range budget for mixed hunting and target work. I’ve used up to 16x scopes but still testing what magnification and reticle feel rightBudget? What are you wanting to do with it? Hunting, target, long range, or all around? You said you are newer to the shooting game have you played with higher power optics? All of these will make a diffrence.

That Nightforce ATACR sounds rock-solid, I don’t mind the weight if it always holds zero. What magnification and reticle do you find best for your long-range hunts? For long range shooting/hunting I use a nightforce atacr.. it’s heavy, but my truck doesn’t complain.. it ALWAYS works
