In my few years of shooting, I've learned that good glass changes everything, what optics have made the biggest difference for y'all?

Well, howdy there! For me, a top-tier Leupold made a world of difference. That crisp glass and killer light transmission is a game changer for those long-range shots. You just can't beat it.
Leupold's good for sure and I've had good luck with Vortex too, their warranty's unbeatable and the glass is getting really good for the price point

Budget? What are you wanting to do with it? Hunting, target, long range, or all around? You said you are newer to the shooting game have you played with higher power optics? All of these will make a diffrence.
Thave a Great Day :)

For long range shooting/hunting I use a nightforce atacr.. it’s heavy, but my truck doesn’t complain.. it ALWAYS works

Good point, I’m leaning mid-range budget for mixed hunting and target work. I’ve used up to 16x scopes but still testing what magnification and reticle feel right

That Nightforce ATACR sounds rock-solid, I don’t mind the weight if it always holds zero. What magnification and reticle do you find best for your long-range hunts?

That Nightforce is a bit above mid tier LOL. I am not a fan of Chrfistmas tree recticles for hunting. I refer a less cluttered optic. Something along these lines would be better for me

Most of my hunting scopes are in the 6-20, 5-25 power range and find that to be a great plenty for long range work. As a reminder depending on the scope you choose you may loose some twilight shooting ability

I have a 4x20 and a 5x25.. for hunting I generally go at 20 power, less if someone else is using my rifle. I like F1 reticle, and MOA..
My wife is much more fortunate at drawing licenses, as are my friends, so I end up being the packer, ranger, dialer, spotter, etc..

I did not mention this before so i will now. I do not consider Long Range Hunting to be anything over 500yds in perfect conditions. As we are all well aware of the infomous Wyoming winds. Shooting across a canyon or even a larger draw can have a huge effect on wind speed and direction. Not to mention an animal moving in the time a bullet takes to arrive.
