Frustrated with the Judiciary Committee's vote on wildlife harassment

I've been following the debate over harassing wildlife on winter ranges for years, so I can't say I'm surprised the committee voted against the bill again. Still, it's disappointing to see it fail.

I'm a hunter and I fully support legal predator control but the separate issue of people chasing animals to exhaustion with snowmobiles just feels wrong. Forcing elk and deer to burn energy running in deep snow goes against the ethic of fair chase we're supposed to have here.

The legislative approach doesn't seem to be getting anywhere. Do you think a well organized, citizen led petition might actually force a more serious conversation than another bill that dies in committee?

It is unethical. Many winter ranges are closed to vehicles and that’s the way it should be.
Exactly, @Wind River. The winter range closures are a good thing, but the problem is all the land where chasing them is still technically allowed. I'm wondering if a formal petition to expand the closures would get any more traction than the bills have.
