This is for every newbie here who may have gotten some things confused..long-range shooting ain't mystical. You just have to learn wind, range estimation, and your rifle's true velocity. Another tip is to practice elevation and holdovers, keep a calm routine, and log every shot so you know what works. If you are new to this, I will be taking any questions you have here

I've been logging my shots like you suggested, but I still get thrown off when the Wyoming wind kicks up out of nowhere. Also, my groups at 400 yards keep stringing vertically, any tips on fixing that?

My issue's consistency, some days my elevation holds are dead-on, other days I can't seem to repeat it. On top of that, my scope turrets feel a little mushy, not sure if it's me or the gear

Vertical shots usually mean you're not holding your cheek the same way each time. For that Wyoming wind, just keep watching the grass, it'll tell you everything

Sounds like your scope's the problem, mushy turrets will mess up your consistency every time..so get that checked first, then worry about your technique. Good glass makes everything easier
