Gear you thought was essential but never use

Mine will be a "chest rig with eight magazine pouches". I thought I needed to carry 240 rounds on my body for... reasons. I used it once and realized it was heavy and uncomfortable..my belt with two spare mags covers 99% of scenarios. What's yours?

I bought a huge tripod. It looked great online but I hated carrying it. A tree, my pack, or even my knee does the job just as well.

I bought this huge backpack thinking I'd need it for every trip. Now it just sits in the closet, while I use a small one all the time.

1600 gram insulated boots. I was thinking about hunting in snowy wet conditions and keeping my feet warm. I found out right away that hot sweaty feet aren't the way to go. I got the same boots with 400 grams of insulation and have been really happy with them.
