I'd love to hear about everyone’s first handgun experience. Do you still own it? What do you think of it now? I still have mine, and every time I take it out, I’m flooded with memories. Feel free to share stories or photos!

Mine was a Colt PeaceKeeper 357 magnum with a 6" barrel. I bought it in 1982 when I turned 21 at Western Auto in Bell,California. I had to wait the 15 day waiting period before I could take it home. I eventually traded it for a Ruger Blackhawk 41 magnum at Weatherby's in South Gate, California.

For me, it was a Colt single-action .22/.22 Mag 'convertible' with adjustable sights - great little gun, but I didn't have enough sense to keep it. (So far on this topic, looks like Colts were popular! ;^)

My first was a S&W 686 in about 82 or so.
Little did I know at the time that a no dash 2 1/2” 686 would be a want.
I no longer have it, but gifted it years ago and it is still in excellent condition.

Bought a High Standard Plinker in 1969.

Had it till a few years ago when a fellow at the Casper Gun Show relieved me of it. My last semi-auto to leave the cabin.

Mine was a then new Browning 22 auto. Touted as the only US made Browning at the time, (mid 1970s), I believe they’re still made in Utah. I sold it years ago.
