The gun maintenance task you always put off

Mine is "deep cleaning my AR's bolt carrier group". I know I should do it more often, but disassembly, scrubbing all those tiny parts, getting carbon out of every crevice, it's tedious! I do it eventually, just not as often as I should. The gun runs fine enough that I keep procrastinating on the deep clean. I am not proud of it, just being honest.

He runs fine dirty, so you both just agree not to talk about it

I tested my AR to see how many rounds I could fire before cleaning. I was over 1800 rounds when it started to not seat a round. My son was home an leave from the Army and was the company armorer. He just smiled when I told him about my experiment.
