When I was seven years old in 1959 my grandmother took me out to a rancher friend's place near Bonneville and taught me how to hit paper plates nailed to the branches of cottonwood trees. Her revolver was a Smith & Wesson .32 Regulation Police Model 31 with a 2" barrel and square butt, like this one.
I guess I never lost the attachment to that first experience, but I moved up to the .38 Chiefs Special as my preferred arm. I still prefer the square butt, but my favorite barrel length is the 3".
How 'bout you? What are your first shooting memories? Did they stick with you?
