I carried at 4 o’clock for years and dealt with constant printing and discomfort, especially while driving. I finally tried appendix carry, and everything just clicked. I’d avoided it because of what I’d heard online, but trying it myself proved otherwise. Sometimes you just have to test things and see what actually works for you.

Alan, you've proven a theory I've long held as gospel. Take every bit of advice, guidance, direction, and dictate you read online as "one person's opinion," no matter how many climb aboard the band wagon in support of an idea. Until you do it yourself it's all moot.

I've been carrying at 4 o'clock for more than a decade. I'm confident in my muscle memory and performance, but in the last six months I've been considering changing to appendix. Your post has pushed me a bit closer to trying it so I develop "that" muscle memory and feel confident about the change. Thanks.

I do have one question for you. It regards the cant of the holster. At 4 o'clock my leather rides at a 15° forward cant. That doesn't seem to work when I slide the leather around to appendix. I believe I need a rear cant (number of degrees not yet determined). Please share your experience?

You’re absolutely right, nothing replaces reps. For appendix, 15° forward cant rarely works, you can start at 0° (straight drop), then experiment with slight rear cant. Small adjustments and dry reps will tell you everything..
