I can't imagine shooting past 300 yards without one, the stability it provides is huge. Why do some hunters refuse to use them?

Some folks think bipods are cheating. I think missing is cheating myself.

I have to have it for Shots off Magnum Point. Min shot is 800 Yards, so have to be on your game.

I definitely believe bipods are an important tool to have in your kit.
You can shoot long range with consistent precision from multiple positions
This picture is from a series of positional drills. I'm shooting at a 2 MOA gong at 600yds

I do not shoot long range without some kind of support now. A bipod helps me be consistent. Some guys like to go light, but I like doing what I can to make it easier on myself.

I’ve used cross sticks for decades on long shots, essentially the same idea as a bipod. Honestly, most of the game I take is at <200 yards with only a few past 300. Most of the closer shots have been offhand using a military style sling or a “Ching” sling, with my arm wrapped in.
I don’t care to have a lot of stuff attached to my gun, heck, if I could get by with iron sights I would hunt that way.
