Precision rifle competitions look cool but also super technical. Is it beginner friendly or should I practice more first?

I have found that when starting to compete in a firearms related competition, you probably won't do too good until you've done it a few times. Also, the guys that have been doing it a while are over the top helpful in showing you how to improve.

I would say jump right in. You will have fun and will get better as you get more matches in.

From what I've seen, PRS shooters are pretty cool with beginners. The hardest part seems to be learning how the stages work and dealing with the time limits, not the shooting itself.

You can really just go in sooner than you might think. Just watching what others do and trying out a few stages yourself teaches you so much more than if you just wait around until you feel absolutely ready.
